I HAVE REVISED MY LIFE

Since my last entry about moving out of grad school I have a)let most of a summer elapse and b)completely revised my life. What I mean by this is that I broke up with my long-term boyfriend and moved to New York. Nothing says Quarter Life Crisis like huge life changes, am I right?

Pros of Breaking Up With Long-Term Boyfriend:
  • Whole closet to myself!
  • Whole bed to myself (usually)!
  • No one will judge me if I eat ramen and watch crime dramas everyday, because no one will know.
  • There are a lot of good-lookin' fellas in New York, and I'm allowed to make out with them. All of them.
Cons of Breaking Up With Long-Term Boyfriend:
  • "The hardest part of breakin' up, is getting back your stuff." -2Get+Her
  • I can't listen to about half of my iTunes library for dumb nostalgic reasons.
  • Shame is no longer what keeps me from eating ramen and watching crime dramas everyday, I now have to utilize something known as "will power".
  • I might die alone (this is probably not worth worrying about yet, but just try and stop me....)
But all in all, I'm pretty happy about it. Especially because I've had this move to take my mind of things.

Pros of Moving to New York:
  • All of my friends are here.
  • My friends who aren't here visit here, because all of our other friends live here.
  • I'm never the one wearing the most black eye-liner.
  • There is awesome stuff to do all of the times.
  • Happy hour, snitches!
  • In New York, every other girl you see is the most beautiful girl you've ever seen in your life.
Cons of Moving to New York:
  • I no longer live a ten minute bike ride from the place where I do all of the things.
  • I haven't seen the inside of a Trader Joe's for months.
  • Some of my friends are fools and live way uptown, so even though all my friends are here, I probably won't actually see some of them that often.
  • Loud loud loud. Everything is loud. And wakes me up. Way too early.
  • Money blah blah money blah
  • In New York, every other girl you see is the most beautiful girl you've ever seen in your life.

I took this on the street near our new apartment. It pretty much sums up how I feel about my supremely Quarter Life Crisis-y revisions.

I also saw this a few minutes later. It's doll arm floating in a puddle. Enjoy.
